Sometimes support begins with a simple gesture—an opportunity to tell a story

Sometimes support begins with a simple gesture—an opportunity to tell a story

Tabassum (which means "smile" in Uzbek) is an inclusive workshop where teenagers with intellectual disabilities (cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and others) realize their potential. After finishing school, most of the children remain unemployed, and their future path ends in social isolation.

Here at Tabassum, the children find friends, discover their creative potential, and pave the way to employment.

We collaborated with Leica to organize a documentary shoot. These photographs will be used on the center's website and in presentations so that even more people will learn about their work and join in their good works.

We invited Ildar Sadykov, a documentary filmmaker whose work has been published in National Geographic, to participate in the shoot. He has a delicate ability to convey mood and emotion while remaining true to the documentary. Together, we wanted to show the real life of the center—without embellishment, with respect and warmth for each subject.

We're happy to be part of this project and help tell an important story—a story of strength, care, and real people.
